Congressman Felix Grucci, Jr. (NY-1) received a warm welcome at the first meeting of Suffolk's newly-formed Third Party Club. The congressman addressed an enthusiastic crowd of more than one hundred and fifty people at the opening night party on February 4.

The club's founders, New York State and Suffolk County Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay and Chuck Pohanka of the Working Families Party, formed the club to enable people of all political persuasions to eat, meet, and mingle, and, as MacKay stated, to bring people together in a casual social setting to meet their elected officials and candidates, and maybe even inspire some newcomers to become more involved in the electoral process.

The meetings of the third party club are open to anyone interested in entering politics, and especially the growing movement of third parties in Suffolk County. The club meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Cesare's Restaurant in Sayville and features two guest speakers, free food, and lots of camaraderie. According to MacKay, anyone interested in attending a club meeting can simply "come by" or call for more information at (631) 209-9329. There is no charge and everyone is welcome
